What was the highlight of Novotel Okinawa Naha
Well located for Castle, main shopping district and very comfortable to sleep in.
Very comfortable bed, pillows and generally quiet hotel so we slept well (our best sleep out of 7 hotels during our trip). Cafe menu was pretty good and prices were fair. Swimming pool was well maintained, fresh towels and staff available. Changing room facilities were very good and clean. Machine to dry swimming costume, which is always useful.
We arrived 1.5 hours before check in and were told we couldn't sit on the lobby chairs in the cafe, unless we bought food / drink, This made us feel a little unwelcome, even though we had booked to stay 2 nights. We were also told we could not sit and wait by the pool until our room was ready. So, if you do arrive a bit ahead of your check in time; there aren't many options where you can wait.

A convenient place to stay in Naha if traveling by car
If you're traveling Okinawa by car, it is a convenient place to stay in Naha since major roads are close by. Views from the room were great, semi-double twin beds were comfortable. Staff was correct and rooms were clean.
A lot of group and conference activities. There were many groups from high school (Okinawa is a popular destination for school trips in Japan) running and shouting on the corridors, some of them were jumping with clothes in the outdoor jacuzzi and swimming pool at night. Parking was charged on a daily basis while in other places in the island is not the case. We were surprised of having a window connecting the toilet and the bedroom. Convenience store staff was definitely burnt out.

What was the highlight of Novotel Okinawa Naha
I had an overall good stay.
Breakfast was very good. Lots of local food and variety of food and beverages. The location was ideal for nearby historic places. The room was cleaned and amenities replaces every day once I wasn't in the room. The staff were very helpful and polite.
Not being able to make local calls from my room was disappointing. The bed could've been one king size bed instead of to 2 twin size beds joined together. The room had a slight odor, don't know if it was the carpet or because the ac was off upon entering the room. Room service would've been nice to have. It would've been nice if the hotel had sent me a happy birthday card in my room seeing that my purpose of being there was to celebrate my birthday. Some acknowledgment would've made me feel special as other hotels normally do and seeing that it was my 1st time there.
